Jesus came into this world on a mission. He wasn't looking for religious people. His mission was not about starting a ministry that would produce programs to be consumed by nice, attractive, middle-class, white, suburban, couples with 2.5 kids. Jesus didn't come to start a country club, a social gathering or even a non-profit philanthropic organization. Jesus came to build the Kingdom of Heaven by calling his followers, the church, to storm the gates of hell. The church he founded was not a place for people to network, do their religious duty, or even to get fat on spiritual food. No Jesus founded the church to be an equipping ground where missionaries are trained and sent out to do ministry in their neighborhoods, schools and workplaces. Church is not a building or destination, but a people who are on mission: to follow Jesus in seeking and saving those who are lost.
