Jacob’s Well is a new worship gathering at Gateway Community Church in Sugar Land, Texas. We held our first preview worship service in August
and will continue with a monthly preview services for the rest of 2007.
Jacob’s Well began as a dream in the Fall of 2006 as Andy Ramos and Chris Fresch began discussing what it would look like if Jesus’ Church truly committed itself to being all things for all people (1 Corinthians 9:22) and decided to engage the culture rather than run away from it. Soon a Bible Study was formed and then a small leadership team began to take shape.
As a Community, we are still in our infancy (we like to think of ourselves as in our prenatal stage.) Our dream is that we will grow to become a community of authentic, missional, worshipers of Jesus. To be honest we don’t completely know what we’re doing, but we do believe that God is leading us in a new direction and we are excited about where he is taking us.
We have chosen the name Jacob’s Well because we want to be a place where all people, no matter what their past, no matter what their background, no
matter where they are in their spiritual journey can come as they are and encounter God. We want to break down cultural barriers and build a
community where people can be open, honest and real, where they can
freely seek answers to their spiritual questions without fear of judgement,
and where people are accepted for who they are.
